Duties

• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, plastering, and applying primer to ensure optimal paint adhesion and finish quality
• Apply paint, stain, varnish, and other finishes using hand tools such as brushes, rollers, spray guns (including airless paint spraying), and power tools
• Read blueprints and schematics to determine project scope, color schemes based on color theory principles, and specific surface requirements
• Perform construction painting tasks on both interior and exterior surfaces of residential, commercial, and industrial buildings
• Execute specialized tasks including caulking, trim carpentry, stucco application, masonry work, restoration projects, and fixture installation
• Use construction estimating skills to assess project needs accurately and manage time efficiently on site
• Conduct renovation work involving framing, drywall installation, plastering, masonry repairs, concrete finishing, and maintenance tasks
• Operate welding equipment when necessary for structural repairs or enhancements on construction sites
• Maintain safety standards by following proper procedures for working with scaffolding, ladders, scaffolding systems, scaffolding safety protocols and handling hazardous materials

Experience

• Proven experience in residential painting with a strong understanding of color theory and surface preparation techniques
• Hands-on experience with commercial and industrial painting projects across various construction sites
• Skilled in using hand tools such as brushes, rollers, scrapers; power tools including sanders and spray equipment; welding tools; masonry equipment; carpentry tools for trim carpentry and framing
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings accurately to execute projects according to specifications
• Familiarity with renovation processes involving plastering, restoration work, fixture installation, caulking techniques & schematics comprehension
• Knowledge of construction estimating principles for project planning and resource management
• Basic math skills for measurements and calculations necessary during project execution
• Experience working safely at heights on scaffolding or ladders while adhering to OSHA standards or local safety regulations
• Prior handyman experience or general maintenance background is advantageous for versatile project support
