Position Description: Seattle Parks & Recreation Facilities Maintenance are seeking skilled Painters to join our team. These positions perform a wide range of journey-level painting duties, including surface preparation, graffiti removal, line striping, and other related maintenance tasks.
This role requires specialized knowledge of paints, coatings, materials, tools, and application techniques. Painters support the ongoing preventive maintenance and routine upkeep of Parks buildings, facilities, furnishings, and equipment by ensuring surfaces are properly prepared, protected, and finished.
We are currently recruiting for two (2) regular, benefited positions on the Day Shift between the hours of 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., on a 4-day, 10-hour shift. Additional candidates from this recruitment may be considered for temporary assignments for up to one year.
Requires completion of a painter apprenticeship program or three years in the painting trade working under a journey-level painter performing a variety of work in the trade (or a combination of education and/or training and/or experience which provides an equivalent background required to perform the work of the class).

A current Washington State driver's license is required. A current, "FULL" driving abstract from the Department of Licensing must be submitted upon offer of employment. Candidates with a driving history that does not meet our current safety standards will be disqualified from consideration.
