Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Shift Leader to oversee daily operations in our fast-paced food service environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of food preparation, POS systems, and restaurant management. This role is vital in ensuring exceptional customer service, maintaining food safety standards, and supervising staff to deliver a seamless dining experience. The Shift Leader will be responsible for managing shift activities, supporting team members, and upholding the company's standards of quality and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily restaurant operations during assigned shifts, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to company policies.
- Lead and motivate team members, providing coaching, training, and development to enhance performance.
- Oversee food preparation processes, maintaining high standards of food safety and quality control.
- Manage POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for accurate order processing and cash handling.
- Monitor inventory levels, assist with inventory control, and coordinate with suppliers as needed.
- Ensure excellent customer service by addressing guest concerns promptly and professionally.
- Enforce health and safety regulations, including food handling procedures and sanitation standards.
- Assist with staff scheduling, interviewing potential team members, and conducting performance evaluations.
- Support kitchen management tasks including food production, catering, banquet services, and bar operations if applicable.
- Handle shift management duties such as opening/closing procedures, cash reconciliation, and reporting.
Requirements
- Proven experience in food service management or restaurant supervision within quick service or casual dining environments.
- Strong background in food preparation, culinary techniques, and kitchen management.
- Familiarity with POS systems including Aloha POS and Micros POS; cash handling experience required.
- Excellent leadership skills with prior supervisory or team management experience.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and health regulations.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
- Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on hospitality excellence.
- Experience with staff training, interviewing, and development processes.
- Previous experience in hospitality management or hotel/banquet settings is a plus.
