Job Title: Cutting Machine Operator (Printing Press)Job SummaryOperate, set up, and maintain automated and semi-automated cutting machines (like Polar cutters) to trim printed materials (paper, cardstock, etc.) to specified dimensions, ensuring accuracy, quality, and efficient workflow within the finishing department. Key Responsibilities

• Machine Operation: Set up, calibrate, and operate cutting machines according to job orders and specifications.
• Quality Control: Verify cut accuracy, alignment, and quality using rulers, micrometers, and visual checks; perform pre-production runs.
• Material Handling: Load various paper, cardstock, and other printed materials onto the cutter bed.
• Maintenance: Perform routine cleaning, oiling, and minor troubleshooting; maintain cutting blades.
• Workflow Coordination: Communicate with press and finishing teams to ensure smooth transitions and meet production schedules.
• Record Keeping: Document production data and report issues to supervisors.
• Safety: Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area.

Qualifications & Skills

• Experience: Proven experience as a Cutting Machine Operator in a printing or packaging environment.
• Technical Skills: Strong understanding of machine settings, calibration, and cutting processes.
• Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and precision is crucial.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot machine issues.
• Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively and meet deadlines.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent often required.

Work Environment
