Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Paralegal. This Litigation Paralegal will support attorneys in all stages of litigation, particularly in Medical Malpractice defense.
Duties:
- Request, organize and categorize medical records, cased files, and other relevant documents
- Prepare responses to requests for information, including discovery requests and interrogatories
- Communicates with clients, expert witnesses, and opposing counsel
- Prepare trial exhibits, coordinating witness testimony , and assisting with trial preparation.
- Coordinating depositions, hearings, and other court-related events
- Calendar trial order timely
- Identify and contacting expert witness who can provide testimony in the case
- Capture billable time in case management system
- Request bills and medical records
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- 2+ years of experience in Medical Malpractice litigation defense
- Understanding of legal language and principles, research methods, court pleadings and processes, and other related matters.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, and to exercise discretion and good judgment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
