Paralegal

Morris Law Firm, PLLC. is looking to add an experienced Paralegal to our team! We are a very busy law firm located in Abilene, Texas. Our primary focus areas are family law and criminal law.

The ideal candidate will be a licensed paralegal or at least two years prior family law legal experience, be professional in appearance and demeanor, intelligent, self-motivated, dedicated, hard-working, reliable, have excellent organizational skills and communication skills, and be detail oriented. The ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive matters with discretion is required. The candidate MUST be able to perform in a fast-paced environment, get along well with others, have the ability to handle a heavy caseload with multiple assignments and tasks, and be able to prioritize assignments and manage time effectively.

Job duties include but are not limited to: assisting attorney, communicating with clients and witnesses, conducting legal research as needed, electronic filing, managing all aspects of family law cases, answering phones, corresponding with attorneys and courts, drafting pleadings, responding to legal documents, assisting with trial preparation, and other general legal tasks as assigned.

Qualifications: paralegal certificate or college; two years prior work experience in family law, proficient in Microsoft Office Suites, experience using Westlaw Form Builder or Tx Docs, experience with legal terminology and procedures, strong verbal and written communication skills. Bilingual is a plus.

Pay: $15.00 - $30.00 per hour
