Job Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Litigation Paralegal to support complex litigation matters in our regional office. The ideal candidate will manage all phases of litigation, provide electronic discovery and trial support, and assist in dispute resolution, particularly in matters involving medical claims. This role is critical in ensuring the efficient progression of cases while maintaining compliance with local, state, and federal court procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all phases of litigation, including drafting pleadings, motions, subpoenas, discovery requests/responses, and trial documents.
- Organize, Bates stamp, index, and maintain electronic and paper case files; track deadlines; ensure compliance with court rules (including ECF, E-Portal).
- Conduct legal research and analysis of case law, statutes, and regulations to support case strategy.
- Assist in trial preparation, including exhibits, witness lists, deposition outlines, and trial logistics.
- Handle electronic discovery using tools such as Relativity, Ringtail, Summation, Concordance, CaseMap, TextMap, TimeMap, Trial Director, or similar software.
- Review and analyze medical claims, insurance data, and related documentation to support litigation and dispute resolution.
- Support arbitration, mediation, and other dispute proceedings by preparing filings, summaries, and exhibits.
- Draft legal correspondence and case summaries, coordinate with attorneys, clients, court personnel, and external stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate case calendars and documentation systems (NetDocs experience preferred).
- Support trial presentation and litigation software as needed.
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; paralegal certification preferred.
- 5–7 years of experience supporting complex litigation, including electronic discovery, trial preparation, and dispute resolution.
- Experience with healthcare or medical claims litigation is highly desirable.
Special Requirements:
- Proficiency with litigation support software (Relativity, Ringtail, Summation, Concordance, CaseMap, TextMap, TimeMap, Trial Director, etc.).
- Working knowledge of federal and regional court procedures, including appellate rules and electronic filing systems (PACER, CM/ECF, E-Portal, etc.).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Analytical mindset with ability to handle trial support and litigation presentation.
Additional Desired Characteristics:
- Familiarity with trial presentation software.
- Experience coordinating with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and regulators.
- Proven work ethic and reliability.
Work Environment:
- Office-based position with occasional overtime and travel as required.
