We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Paralegal to assist with Lincoln Electric System’s legal operations and corporate governance. In this role, you will provide administrative support to LES’s in-house attorneys to maximize the efficiency of LES’s in-house legal services and assist with maintaining and managing LES’s corporate records. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, assertive and exercise a high degree of professionalism. JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for assisting attorneys and other staff in the Legal and Government Services division including in preparing legal and regulatory documents, maintaining and organizing LES’s corporate policies and enterprise-wide records, forms and other documents, as well as performing traditional administrative legal support functions. This responsibility will require the employee to interface with LES employees on all legal and corporate governance matters including, but not limited to, records retention, litigation holds, public records requests, contract management system, the corporate forms library and corporate policies and processes collection. Consistent and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND COMPETENCIES


  • Prepares rough drafts and finalizes legal documents including legal pleadings, motions, briefs, contracts, written discovery, internal policies and general correspondence.

  • Maintains case files and assembles appropriate documentation for use by attorneys.

  • Manages a calendar of relevant time deadlines for ongoing legal and regulatory matters.

  • Manages the collection of claims brought by LES and against third party for damage to LES facilities and other unpaid invoices.

  • Manages the organization’s records management and records retention schedule as the subject matter expert and promotes organizational compliance with the records retention schedule.

  • Coordinates the response to all formal public records requests and collaborates with LES legal counsel to ensure all responses are compliant.

  • Identifies individuals affected by a litigation hold and ensures that all affected individuals are made aware of their obligations related to a litigation hold.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • Familiarity with legal terminology, court procedures, legal research tools, common legal documents and case management practices.

  • Advanced familiarity with software applications such as Microsoft 365 applications, DocuSign and Adobe Acrobat.

  • A strong attention to detail and the ability to consistently meet deadlines.


REQUIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a related field; and

  • At least four years of relevant experience; or

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
