<Job Overview>
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting various legal functions by conducting research, managing documents, and assisting with case preparation across multiple practice areas. Your proactive approach and organizational skills will help ensure the smooth operation of our law office, enabling us to deliver exceptional legal services to our clients. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your legal expertise while contributing to impactful legal work. Family law and or civil experience required.

<Responsibilities>

  • Conduct comprehensive legal research using tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw across diverse practice areas including estate planning, environmental law, family law, securities law, tribal law, patent law, and workers' compensation law.
  • Assist attorneys with drafting legal documents, contracts, pleadings, and correspondence with precision and clarity.
  • Manage and organize case files using document management systems like iManage and PCLaw, ensuring all records are accurate and easily accessible.
  • Review and analyze legal documents for accuracy, consistency, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Support litigation processes through document review, data entry, and preparing discovery materials.
  • Conduct interviews with clients or witnesses as needed to gather pertinent information for cases.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients, courts, and external partners via professional phone etiquette and administrative support.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as filing, proofreading, transcription, and scheduling to support the legal team’s efficiency.

<Skills>

  • Strong knowledge of multiple practice areas including estate planning, environmental law, family law, securities law, tribal law & regulations, patent law, and workers' compensation law.
  • Proficiency in legal research platforms such as LexisNexis and Westlaw.
  • Experience with legal case management systems like iManage and PCLaw.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Effective writing skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence.
  • Attention to detail in proofreading, transcription, and document review tasks.
  • Familiarity with family law and document preparation management systems, data entry procedures, and clerical practices within a law office setting.
