Paralegal

FULL TIME PARALEGAL POSITION
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our legal team in the City of Fairfax. As a Paralegal, you will provide essential support to our attorneys in the following practice areas: Civil Litigation, Trust and Estate Litigation, Guardianship Litigation, Criminal Law, Estate Planning and General Business Law. The ideal candidate has a strong background in law, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently. This is not an entry level position. Candidates without any legal experience will not be considered.

Duties:

Litigation Matters
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant information for cases
- Draft and prepare legal documents, such as pleadings, estate planning documents, contracts, and briefs, under the guidance of counsel
- Assist attorneys in preparing for trials, hearings, and depositions
- Organize and maintain case files and documents
- Coordinate with clients, witnesses, and other parties involved in legal proceedings
- Assist with document management
- Proofread legal documents for accuracy and completeness
- Assist in the preparation of trial exhibits and presentations
- Perform general clerical duties such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, and managing correspondence

Transactional Matters

- Assist with due diligence

- Draft and prepare contracts and legal documents under the guidance of counsel

- Coordinate with clients and other parties to gather necessary documents for transactional matters

Skills:
- Proficient with Microsoft 365 and Clio or similar practice management and billing system.
- Familiarity with litigation procedures and court rules
- Attention to detail and strong proofreading skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills
- Strong organizational skills

- Spanish speaking preferred

- Notary a plus

- Position is full time in person with some opportunity for remote work after three months.

Pay: From $60,000.00 per year
