Duties
- Draft and prepare legal documents including pleadings, motions, discovery, and correspondence
- E-file court documents and ensure compliance with local rules and filing requirements
- Review, download, and organize accepted filings and file-stamped documents
- Maintain and organize case files (physical and electronic) with strong attention to detail
- Manage deadlines, court settings, and calendaring, including tracking hearings and submission dates
- Assist attorneys with case management from intake through resolution
- Communicate with clients, courts, and opposing counsel in a professional manner
- Coordinate service of process and follow up on returns
- Assist with discovery, including preparing requests, organizing responses, and tracking deficiencies
- Prepare hearing and trial materials, including exhibits, binders, and witness lists
- Conduct basic legal research and gather supporting documentation
- Coordinate with clients regarding required documents, deadlines, and case updates
- Assist with billing tasks, time entry, and maintaining accurate case notes when needed
- Support the firm in additional practice areas as needed (civil, real estate, document preparation)
Requirements
- Prior experience as a paralegal or legal assistant preferred, but not required
- Familiarity with family law and/or criminal law is a plus
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including professional phone etiquette
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a deadline-driven environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience with case management software (e.g., MyCase) is a plus
- High level of professionalism and ability to handle confidential information
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to draft clear documents and proofread meticulously.
- Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to handle data entry accurately while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
