We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Paralegal Assistant to join our dynamic legal team. In this role, you will provide essential support across a broad spectrum of legal practice areas, including estate planning, environmental law, UCC law, immigration law, family law, securities law, tribal law & regulations, patent law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, and litigation. Your energetic approach and organizational skills will help ensure the smooth operation of our law office while assisting attorneys with legal research, document management, and case preparation. Duties
- Assist attorneys with legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and iManage to support case development and strategy.
- Manage legal documents through document review, proofreading, transcription, and drafting contracts or pleadings with precision and clarity.
- Organize and maintain case files using document management systems and PCLaw for efficient retrieval and tracking of case information.
- Conduct client interviews and gather pertinent information for estate planning, family law cases, or immigration matters with professionalism and sensitivity.
- Support litigation activities by preparing discovery documents, managing case calendars, and tracking deadlines.
- Perform data entry tasks related to legal case management systems while ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Provide executive administrative support including scheduling appointments, managing phone etiquette, organizing meetings, and coordinating communication among team members.
Qualifications
- Proven paralegal experience with a strong background in legal administrative tasks across multiple practice areas such as estate planning, environmental law, UCC law, or tribal regulations.
- Proficiency with legal research tools including Westlaw and LexisNexis; familiarity with iManage is a plus.
- Experience with legal case management software like PCLaw; knowledge of document management systems is highly desirable.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a busy law office environment.
- Strong writing skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence; keen proofreading abilities to ensure accuracy.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct interviews professionally with clients from diverse backgrounds.
- Knowledge of clerical procedures such as filing, data entry, transcription, and phone etiquette.
- Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly while maintaining high levels of confidentiality.
