Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Paralegal/Case Manager to join our legal team. Duties
- Assist attorneys with case preparation by conducting thorough legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research tools.
- Manage and organize legal documents within document management systems such as iManage and PCLaw, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
- Draft, proofread, and edit legal documents including contracts, pleadings, Complaints, TROs, Preliminary Injunctions,memoranda, and correspondence with meticulous attention to detail.
- Conduct client interviews and gather pertinent information to support case development across various practice areas like family law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, landlord-tenant law, and tribal regulations.
- Review and analyze legal files for completeness and accuracy; perform data entry and filing in compliance with firm procedures.
- Support litigation processes through document review, case file organization, and preparation for court proceedings.
- Provide administrative support including calendar management, scheduling appointments, managing deadlines, and maintaining case files with organizational excellence.
- Utilize legal administrative experience to streamline workflows and improve efficiency within the law office environment.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of real estate practice areas including contract law, foreclosure law, unlawful detainers and litigation procedures.
- Proficiency in legal research platforms such as Westlaw and LexisNexis; ability to synthesize complex information clearly.
- Experience with legal case management software like Clio Manag; adept at document review and management systems.
- Excellent writing skills for drafting legal documents; proofreading and transcription abilities are essential.
- Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to handle multiple cases simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Exceptional organizational skills for managing large volumes of files and data entry tasks efficiently.
- Effective interviewing techniques to gather comprehensive client information accurately.
- Strong clerical experience including filing, data entry, phone etiquette, administrative support tasks, and document management system use.
- Ability to perform thorough legal research across various jurisdictions using Westlaw or LexisNexis tools.
