We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Paralegal/Case Manager to join our dynamic legal team. <Responsibilities>
- Assist attorneys with case management across various legal disciplines by organizing and maintaining case files using document management systems such as iManage and Clio.
- Conduct comprehensive legal research utilizing Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal databases to support case strategies and client advisories.
- Draft, review, and proofread legal documents including contracts, pleadings, discovery requests, and correspondence with precision and clarity.
- Perform detailed document review and data entry to ensure accuracy in all case-related records.
- Support litigation processes through document review, filing court documents electronically or physically, and managing deadlines.
- Conduct client interviews and gather pertinent information while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
- Provide executive administrative support by managing calendars, scheduling meetings, handling phone etiquette professionally, and coordinating communication among team members.
- Assist with project management tasks related to criminal defense investigations and expert witnesses.
- Maintain organized case files in compliance with firm policies and legal standards; ensure timely follow-up on pending matters.
- Support attorneys during trial preparation by organizing exhibits, preparing summaries, trial notebooks, and transcribing notes as needed.
<Experience>
- Paralegal experience in a fast-paced law office environment with exposure to multiple practice areas such as criminal defense, family law, paternity law, and estate planning.
- Proven ability to conduct thorough legal research using Westlaw or LexisNexis efficiently.
- Strong understanding of legal case management systems including iManage or similar platforms like PCLaw or Clio.
- Excellent writing skills with experience in drafting legal documents and proofreading for accuracy.
- Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Experience in document review, data entry, filing procedures both electronically and physically within a busy legal setting.
- Familiarity with administrative tasks such as calendar management, client communication via phone etiquette, transcription services, and clerical support.
- Knowledge of various practice areas including family law, criminal defense, and estate planning.
- Ability to perform legal research effectively using Westlaw or LexisNexis platforms; understanding of legal terminology is essential.
