Paralegal/Legal Assistant Litigation

Our law firm has an immediate opening in our Norfolk office for an experienced legal assistant / paralegal to support our healthcare litigation team. The qualified candidate must have a minimum of 2 years of law firm experience.

The ideal candidate will be proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook as well as have experience with client billing and time entry. We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented individual with a proven ability to multi-task as well as prioritize competing deadlines. Strong interpersonal, communication, and proofreading skills are required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Communication skills
  • Electronic Communications skills
  • Coordinate or manage email, calendars, contact information, tasks or similar communications activities for multiple attorneys
  • Utilizing Outlook for calendaring, emails, correspondence
  • Research skills
  • Coordinate or manage phone calls, voice mail messages or conference calls.
  • Document services in software
  • Draft, revise, proofread or transcribe documents, presentations or correspondence.
  • Proofread, edits, and/or assembles legal documents, including but not limited to, pleadings, contracts, subpoenas, legal memoranda, letters, proposals and/or other documents
  • Revising billing documents
  • Comparisons, conversions, merges, creation of tables of contents/authorities, etc.
  • Creation of exhibits for trial

Pay: $42,000.00 - $46,000.00 per year
