Paramedic - Transport

We Are Hiring:
Location: Wichita, KS
Facility: Via Christi Hospital St. Francis
Department/Speciality: Transport
Schedule: PRN, Minimum of 1 12hr shift per pay period

What You Will Do:
  • Provide advanced life support for critically ill or injured patients at the scene and during transport as part of the transport team.
  • Identify, intervene, and stabilize ill or injured patients during interfacility and intrafacility transport in collaboration with the transport physician and/or Registered Nurse.
  • Initiate and implement patient interventions based on transport team protocols.
  • Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition and treatment as appropriate.
  • Contact receiving medical personnel to report patient observations and follow directives.
  • Inspect, maintain, and care for equipment to ensure safety of the transport team, patients, and the public.
  • May be required to drive an ambulance to transport patients and/or supplies.
What You Will Need:
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
  • Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date OR job transfer date required. American Heart Association OR American Red Cross accepted.
  • Paramedic credentialed from the Kansas Board of Emergency Medical Services (KSBEMS) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Drivers License obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer
    date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Education:
  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's
    degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
Additional Preferences:
  • Experienced Paramedic preferred
  • Required availability for Day (6:30 AM - 7:00 PM) or Night shifts (6:30 PM - 7:00 AM) to cover staffing needs, which includes rotating weekends and holidays.
