Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prompt and regular attendance at work.
- Provide quality patient care utilizing thorough knowledge and appropriate administration of Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and approved medical protocols.
- Assess and treat with appropriate techniques (resources and equipment), any medical situation while maintaining the highest standard of patient care and professionalism according to current company standards.
- Provide quality patient care utilizing thorough knowledge and appropriate administration of Critical Care Training, ACLS, and Critical Care Transport Standing Orders.
- Must attend all Continuing Medical Education (CME) courses as required by MedFleet Clinical Operations
- Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with other individuals within the community and EMS system
- Assist in treating with appropriate techniques (resources and equipment) any medical situation while maintaining the highest standard of patient care according to current Company standards.
- Complete run reports for each transport with appropriate patient care documentation and billing information.
- Maintain Paramedic/CCP continued medical education requirements to maintain a higher level of training and education.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of the ambulance, equipment, supplies, and medications.
- Will provide our customers with professional and courteous communication and service.
- Will actively market the ALS/CCP program to maintain a positive image and understanding of the ALS/CCP program.
- Understand the procedure for vehicle checkout, reporting equipment failure, submitting expended supply reports on a daily basis.
- Record all runs in ALS/CCP Log spreadsheet when indicated.
- Attend Paramedic/CCP Staff meetings.
- Perform stocking and cleaning of vehicle and station.
- In depth knowledge and understanding of ALS/CCP policies and procedures.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
- Performs other such duties as may be required
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current Florida Paramedic certification (Information for out-of-state applicants or to renew click here)
- Current BLS & ACLS Certification
- Possession of or ability to obtain a valid Florida driver license upon offer of employment.
- High School Diploma or GED
Desired Qualifications:
- A.S. Degree in Emergency Medical Technology
- Two years working experience as a Paramedic.
- National Registry
- Critical patient inter-facility transfer experience
- Critical Care certification
Physical Requirements
- The Paramedic is required to sit, stand, walk, climb or balance, step, stoop, kneel; and talk or hear. The Paramedic is required to pull, lift, grasp, reach, use hands, finger movement, and repetitive motions.
- Must frequently lift and/or carry a minimum of 140 pounds up to 200 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Requirements will vary; must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
Working Environment:
Works outdoors and indoors with occasional exposure to hazardous conditions and to blood/body fluids, requires respirator use, fumes/odors, extended day, and temperature changes. Frequently works with others, face-to-face contact with others with exposure to noise, mechanical equipment, and electrical equipment. Performs shift work and performs duties frequently in a mobile environment and in confined areas.
