Annual Pay Range: $ 53,287.75 - $ 67,307.99
Hourly Pay Range: $ 25.619109 - $ 32.359609
Starting salaries will be within the posted pay range based on job-related factors such as experience, training, and/or education.
The North Clackamas Parks and Recreation District (NCPRD) seeks a Park Maintenance Specialist to keep public spaces safe, attractive, and welcoming for all.
The Park Maintenance Specialist keeps parks, trails, and recreation facilities in excellent condition year-round. This position leads and trains crews, contractors, and volunteers on maintenance and repair projects, ensuring all work meets safety, efficiency, and quality standards. Responsibilities include landscaping, facility and equipment upkeep, irrigation and turf care, and minor carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work. The specialist also maintains sports fields, playgrounds, buildings, and natural areas, while building positive relationships with park visitors, volunteers, and community partners.
The ideal candidate brings experience in landscaping, facility maintenance, or park operations. You motivate and guide others, prioritize safety, and manage multiple projects. You work outdoors in all weather, solve problems independently, and approach each task with professionalism and attention to detail. Teamwork, public service, and environmental stewardship are essential.

This position is included in the County’s alternate workweek program, working 40 hours during a standard workweek of Monday through Thursday (Friday through Sunday off). Specific hours of work will be discussed with the candidate selected for this position at the time an offer of employment is extended.
This position is designated as on-site/in-person. It is expected that the selected candidate will perform duties at the specified on-site work location.
Duties require frequent to continuous standing, walking, squatting, kneeling, bending, twisting, balancing, climbing, overhead reaching, grasping, fine motor control, and the ability to carry up to 60 pounds, lift, and push/pull 100 pounds.
Duties also involve exposure to confined spaces, loud noises, vibration, slippery and/or uneven surfaces, working at heights, exhaust fumes and dust, chemicals, and adverse weather conditions, including extreme temperatures.

North Clackamas Parks and Recreation District (NCPRD) is a service district of Clackamas County dedicated to providing exceptional parks, recreation programs, facilities, and services. Formed in 1990 through voter approval, NCPRD was created to meet the growing need for parks and recreation services in the northern end of the county.
Today, NCPRD serves more than 106,000 residents across a 27-square-mile area, including the city of Milwaukie and the surrounding unincorporated areas of Clackamas County. The district features 35 parks and natural areas, two special-purpose areas, and three trails and greenways, including the 6-mile Trolley Trail. Residents also enjoy access to three unique facilities, including North Clackamas Aquatic Park, Concord Community Center, and Milwaukie Community Center. Through protected green spaces and a wide variety of recreational programs, NCPRD provides opportunities for all ages to connect, stay active, and explore the outdoors.
