The Park Maintenance Supervisor III position plays an important role for the Recreation Services Department in keeping parks, buildings, and medians clean, safe, and beautiful.
This position oversees the maintenance and repair of City parks and related facilities, supervising a team of unskilled, semiskilled, and skilled workers. The role involves coordinating daily operations, ensuring safety and quality standards, and performing technical tasks as needed. Work is performed under general supervision, with responsibility for resource management, task completion, and team performance.
- Associate degree from an accredited junior college, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Four (4) years of experience in park or general maintenance work, including at least Two (2) years of supervisory experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Relevant certifications, such as in irrigation systems, playground safety, turf management, or pesticide application, are a plus.
Additional experience is accepted as a minimum requirement in lieu of the postsecondary degree on the following basis: additional four (4) years in lieu of the bachelor’s degree, and additional two (2) years in lieu of an associate degree.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to obtain a Florida State Pesticide Applicator License within six (6) months of employment.

Essential Employee Designation
When normal operations of City departments are suspended or interrupted due to a declaration that a state of emergency exists, any employee may be deemed essential by the City. For the preparation and/or continuation of emergency operations or for special work detail, employees deemed necessary shall be required to work.
