PART-TIME ACADEMIC TUTOR, MENTOR AND VAN DRIVER

Job Overview
Performance Initiatives is seeking a Part-Time Academic Tutor, Mentor, and Van Driver to support students during tutorial periods and assist with transportation for program activities.

This individual will provide academic assistance, mentorship, and safe transportation for students while helping maintain a structured and positive environment aligned with the mission of Performance Initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Academic Support

• Assist students with homework and school assignments
• Provide tutoring support in core subjects (math, reading, science, etc.)
• Help students develop strong study habits and organizational skills
• Encourage academic accountability and focus

Mentorship

• Serve as a positive role model for students
• Encourage discipline, respect, and character development
• Support the mission of Performance Initiatives in developing students both academically and personally

Supervision & Engagement

• Supervise students during tutorial and activity periods
• Maintain a structured and focused learning environment
• Support educational and enrichment activities

Transportation Support (Van Driver)

• Safely transport students using the Performance Initiatives van when needed
• Follow all traffic and safety regulations
• Conduct basic vehicle checks before and after use
• Ensure students follow safety guidelines while riding in the vehicle

Qualifications

• Minimum age: 25 years old
• Valid driver’s license
• Clean driving record
• Ability to pass a background check
• Experience working with youth, tutoring, mentoring, or coaching preferred
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Reliable and punctual
• Associate or Bachelor's Degree

Employment Requirements

• Pre-employment drug testing is required prior to hiring
• Random drug testing may be conducted during employment
• Must maintain a safe and professional environment for all students
• Must comply with all organizational policies and safety standards

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
