Part time Barista

Current tip average is +$5.00/hr per barista (not including cash tips). Tips are pooled and divided amongst cafe staff ONLY.

Sparrows Coffee is looking for excited individuals interested in job opportunities in our retail store!

You must:

• Have a passion for people, coffee, and community.
• Have 1 year minimum retail, fast food, or customer service experience. Barista experience not necessary but a plus.
• Have reliable transportation.
• Be able to work shifts that are scheduled in 6-8 hour time blocks.
• Be available 2-3 days or more per week, including Saturdays and Sundays (requests off are permitted on a first come, first serve basis and black out dates apply).
• Be able to work some holidays
• Be able to stand for extended periods of time, lift up to 25 lbs., and work in a fast paced, close quarters space.

As a Barista at Sparrows you will be expected to:

• Maintain a presence on the cafe floor to assist guests and team members
• Maintain a clean and clutter free cafe
• Maintain knowledge of products, coffee, tea, brewing methods, etc.
• Follow Schuil/Sparrows customer service standards, encouraging friendliness, knowledge, and a dedicated level of assistance to each customer
• Ensure and maintain the quality of all products offered to our guests
• Resolve customer complaints/issues in a timely manner, escalates issues to cafe manager as necessary.
• Ensure all shift responsibilities are completed
• Reasonable and predictable attendance required, which may include overtime, evenings, and weekends as needed.
