Job Summary
We are seeking a detailed-oriented and motivated legal assistant who is looking for an opportunity to learn and work in a fast-paced and hands-on environment. This position requires direct client interaction at all stages of the case - prospective clients to the end of the case. This individual will interact with clientele across all practice areas. Fluency in Spanish is required.
Responsibilities
- Answering the phone and return phone calls; addressing basic inquiries
- Manage electronic and physical filing systems using document management systems
- Conduct client interviews in both English and Spanish to gather relevant information efficiently and professionally.
- Support litigation processes by organizing case files, reviewing documents, and assisting with evidence gathering procedures.
- Perform administrative duties such as data entry, scheduling appointments, answering phones with excellent phone etiquette, and maintaining organized calendars.
- Prepare, draft, proofread, and edit legal documents including contracts, pleadings, correspondence, and reports with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Assist with project management tasks related to ongoing cases or legal initiatives to ensure timely progress.
- Support attorneys with immigration law cases, trust and estates matters, or other specialized legal areas as needed.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required; excellent communication skills in both languages are essential.
- Comfortable answering the phone, returning phone calls and meeting in person with clientele; Exceptional phone etiquette combined with professional interpersonal skills for client interactions
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent writing skills for drafting correspondence and legal documents; keen proofreading abilities are essential.
- Ability to perform data entry accurately while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Strong clerical skills including filing, document management systems operation, transcription, and general administrative support.
