Job Description – Certified Pool Operator (CPO) Site Manager
Position Summary
The Certified Pool Operator Site Manager is responsible for the daily operation, cleanliness, safety, and maintenance oversight of the Association’s pool, pool deck, and recreation facilities. This role ensures that the pool meets all health and safety regulations while providing a clean and well-maintained environment for residents and guests. The CPO Site Manager also oversees pool-related administration, facility reservations, key control, and communication with residents. This is a daily, on-site position requiring a Certified Pool Operator designation (or the ability to obtain certification within 3 months of hire).
Schedule: 7 days per week, 3 hours per day, with a flexible daily schedule Reports to: Director of Site Management
Location: Kanehoa Recreation Center
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Daily Operations
- Open the pool and parking lot each day.
- Clean and maintain the pool, pool deck, and surrounding facility areas.
- Test water chemistry and maintain proper water balance to meet health regulations.
- Apply chemical treatments as necessary and document all testing/treatments.
- Make accurate and timely log book entries according to CPO standards.
Facility & Equipment Oversight
- Perform general maintenance of pool equipment (excluding repairs).
- Monitor and stock pool, custodial, and consumable supplies (Association provides supplies).
- Review security logs for reported incidents or maintenance issues requiring attention.
- Ensure rules signage, safety equipment, and facility systems remain in good working order.
Administrative & Resident Services
- Manage pool recreation center reservations and calendar.
- Program and distribute FOB keys for residents.
- Post Facility Manager’s phone number at the pool gate and respond to inquiries or concerns.
- Communicate issues, incidents, or maintenance needs to the Managing Agent or Board as appropriate.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification or ability to obtain certification within 3 months of start date.
- Knowledge of pool chemistry, safety protocols, and daily pool operations.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, cleaning, and outdoor maintenance work.
- Strong communication skills; able to interact professionally with residents, Board members, and the Managing Agent.
- Basic understanding of facility maintenance and equipment upkeep.
Work Schedule & Expectations
- 7 days per week, 3 hours per day, with flexibility to adjust hours as needed depending on operational requirements.
- Must be available for occasional additional hours for special services or meetings (billed at stated rates).
- Must maintain a reliable presence to ensure daily pool opening and safety compliance.
