Part-Time Chinese Teacher (K–3)

Position Summary

We are seeking a part-time Chinese Teacher to teach Traditional Chinese to students in grades K–3. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, creative, and skilled at using play-based and interactive methods to help young children gain confidence in speaking the language.

Responsibilities

• Teach small group classes (K–3) in Traditional Chinese, focusing on both oral language and literacy foundations
• Incorporate songs, games, stories, and creative activities into lessons to make learning engaging and fun
• Foster a classroom environment that promotes confidence, respect, and curiosity
• Collaborate with other staff to support DSH's literacy and enrichment goals

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Traditional Chinese (speaking, reading, and writing)
• Experience teaching or tutoring young children (K–3)
• Ability to design and deliver creative, play-based lessons
• Patient, encouraging, and able to build children’s confidence in language learning
• Previous teaching experience in language or enrichment programs preferred

Schedule & Pay

• Part-time, weekday afternoons (specific schedule to be discussed)
• Approximately5-8 hours per week to start, with potential for additional classes
• Pay: Based on experience
