Part-Time City Recruiter

POSITION SUMMARY

This is a Part Time Recruiting position that supports the full employment life cycle. Join our team as a part-time Recruiter and help shape the employee experience from start to finish! In this role, you’ll manage the entire recruitment process—from sourcing candidates and posting jobs to screening applicants, coordinating interviews, and supporting new hires through onboarding. You’ll play an important role in ensuring compliance with City policies and employment laws while creating a welcoming experience for every new team member. This position offers a consistent schedule of 24 hours per week (about three days) and reports to the Human Resources Director.

Job Responsibilities (Include, but not limited to)

  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies to attract qualified candidates for City positions.
  • Prepare, post, and maintain job advertisements on various platforms in accordance with City policies.
  • Review applications and resumes to identify qualified candidates.
  • Coordinate and schedule interviews with applicants and hiring managers.
  • Communicate with candidates throughout the hiring process to provide updates and information.
  • Ensure recruitment and hiring practices comply with applicable employment laws and City regulations.
  • Assist with preparing offer letters, new hire paperwork, and other onboarding materials.
  • Guide new employees through the onboarding process to ensure a smooth and welcoming transition.
  • Maintain recruitment records and applicant tracking systems with accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Collaborate with the Human Resources Director and departmental leadership to anticipate staffing needs and improve hiring processes

Minimum Qualifications

· Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; equivalent experience considered

· 2+ years of experience in recruiting, talent acquisition, or related human resources function

· Knowledge of HR policies and practices, with experience using HRIS systems

· Proven experience in recruitment, talent acquisition, or a related field

· Business level written and verbal communication skills in English

· Positive, professional demeanor with a strong customer service focus and commitment to fostering a positive work environment

· Strong attention to detail

· Must pass a background and reference checks

Preferred

· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field

· Prior experience working for a federal, state, county or municipal government

· Professional HR Certification (PHR, SPHR, etc.)

· Strongly preferred - Knowledge and ability in utilizing graphic design software (e.g., Canva, Adobe, etc.)

Pay & Benefits

$25.47 - $34.38 hourly, depending on qualifications. Part-Time employees accrue PTO and receive paid holidays.
