Part-Time Controller

Wimberg Landscaping is a well-established landscaping company serving Greater Cincinnati for over 46 years. We are seeking an experienced Part-Time Controller to oversee the company's accounting and financial operations while serving as a trusted advisor to ownership.

This position offers a flexible hybrid schedule. Much of the work can be performed remotely; however, working in our Milford office approximately one day per week is preferred to collaborate with our leadership team and accounting staff.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations within QuickBooks Online and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
• Perform and oversee the monthly accounting close process, including analytical review of operating results.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and related reports for ownership.
• Prepare and record journal entries and maintain the general ledger.
• Prepare workpapers supporting year-end tax returns and financial statement preparation, and coordinate with the company's outside CPA.
• Monitor and reconcile accounts receivable, accounts payable, bank accounts, and other balance sheet accounts.
• Prepare cash flow projections and assist ownership with cash management and financial planning.
• Develop budgets, compare actual results to budget, and analyze departmental and profit center performance.
• Recommend improvements to accounting procedures, internal controls, and financial reporting.
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax requirements, and regulatory obligations.
• Analyze financial information and provide recommendations to support business decisions.
• Maintain the highest level of confidentiality regarding company financial information.
• Assist with special projects and other accounting responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Online is required.
• Minimum of five years of accounting experience, including Controller or senior-level accounting responsibilities.
• CPA designation is preferred but not required.
• Experience working with a small or family-owned business is preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently while partnering closely with company leadership.
• High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion.

Schedule

• Part-time (approximately 20–30 hours per week)

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $45.00 - $58.00 per hour
