Duties

• Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
• Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and maintained according to infection control standards.
• Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging systems such as digital X-ray machines and 3D scanners while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.
• Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort.
• Record accurate dental histories, vital signs, and treatment notes in electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
• Manage medical documentation including medical records, coding, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA standards.
• Support front desk operations as needed by handling dental receptionist duties such as scheduling appointments and verifying insurance information.

Requirements

• Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques.
• Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; experience with Epic or similar platforms is a plus.
• Ability to take accurate X-rays and operate medical imaging equipment including 3D scanners.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology, medical coding, and medical documentation procedures.
• Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices and experience working with children is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages and team members.
