Duties
- Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and maintained according to infection control standards.
- Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging systems such as digital X-ray machines and 3D scanners while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.
- Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort.
- Record accurate dental histories, vital signs, and treatment notes in electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
- Manage medical documentation including medical records, coding, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA standards.
- Support front desk operations as needed by handling dental receptionist duties such as scheduling appointments and verifying insurance information.
Requirements
- Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques.
- Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; experience with Epic or similar platforms is a plus.
- Ability to take accurate X-rays and operate medical imaging equipment including 3D scanners.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, medical coding, and medical documentation procedures.
- Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices and experience working with children is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages and team members.
