Full Time Dental Assistant

Job Summary

Responsibilities

• Assist dentists chairside during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and organizing dental instruments and equipment in accordance with infection prevention management and aseptic techniques.
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray) using digital imaging systems such as Dentrix.
• Manage patient records accurately, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies.
• Process dental instruments efficiently following sterilization procedures to maintain a sterile environment.
• Maintain knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy to effectively communicate with patients and team members.
• Operate dental equipment including 3D scanners, dental x-ray machines, and other clinical tools with proficiency.
• Uphold infection control standards through proper infection prevention practices and healthcare infection prevention and control expertise.
• Collaborate with the team using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic setting; experience with dental clinic software such as Dentrix is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations, infection control protocols, sterilization procedures, and aseptic techniques.
• Ability to take accurate X-rays (dental x-ray) and operate dental imaging equipment including 3D scanners.
• Strong understanding of dental terminology, medical terminology, oral surgery procedures, endodontics, prosthodontics, and general dentistry practices.
• Excellent communication skills to provide outstanding patient care and support the team effectively.
• Ability to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies at all times.
• Certification in CPR or basic life support (BLS) is a plus but not mandatory; willingness to obtain relevant certifications is preferred.
• Bilingual; Spanish Preferred.
• Compensation based on experience.
