Responsibilities
- Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
- Ability to administer local anesthesia (or willingness to obtain certification) preferred/required
- Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions.
- Take and develop dental radiographs while maintaining proper infection control protocols.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options tailored to pediatric dentistry when applicable.
- Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency and patient comfort.
- Review and update medical records accurately within electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Dentrix Ascend.
- Ensure aseptic techniques are followed diligently to maintain a sterile environment and comply with HIPAA regulations.
- Document treatment details precisely, including medical coding and documentation review for billing accuracy.
- Monitor patient comfort throughout procedures, providing chairside assistance with dental terminology knowledge and patient care skills.
- Previous experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a general setting is preferred.
- Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and HIPAA compliance is essential.
- Experience with medical records management, documentation review, and medical coding will be advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to perform chairside assisting with professionalism and compassion in a fast-paced environment.

Pay: $38.00 - $44.00 per hour
