The Fund Raising School is the professional development arm of the Indiana University (IU) Lilly Family School of Philanthropy - the world's first school dedicated solely to the study and teaching of philanthropy. We offer 27 courses, 5 certificates, and customized training designed to bolster the fundraising efforts of nonprofits, foundations, and other organizations. Our courses enjoy a 95 percent satisfaction rate due to in-depth curriculum informed by the school's leading-edge research.

Job Summary


The continued growth of The Fund Raising School has led us to search for a digital marketing expert who will design and implement online strategies to increase current and new markets.

Department-Specific Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement social media strategies to increase engagement and reach
  • Create, schedule, and monitor posts across various social media platforms
  • Analyze social media metrics and adjust strategies as needed
  • Design and execute email marketing campaigns
  • Manage email lists and segment audiences for targeted communications
  • Track and report on email campaign performance
  • Utilize platform for digital advertising and audience engagement
  • Create and manage campaigns within the platform
  • Develop compelling content for digital channels
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to generate relevant content
  • Implement search engine optimization (SEO) best practices to improve organic search rankings
  • Manage search engine marketing (SEM) campaigns to drive targeted traffic
  • Monitor and analyze digital marketing metrics
  • Prepare regular reports on campaign performance and digital engagement
  • Use data to inform and optimize marketing strategies
  • Work closely with the marketing and communications and fundraising teams
  • Coordinate with external vendors and partners as needed
  • Stay updated on digital marketing trends and best practices

Qualifications

EDUCATION

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field

WORK EXPERIENCE

Required

  • 5 years of proven experience in digital marketing, including website management, social media, email marketing, and digital advertising

Preferred

  • 7 years of proven experience in digital marketing, including website management, social media, email marketing, and digital advertising in higher education or the nonprofit sector
  • Experience in higher education, philanthropy, or nonprofit sector

  • Proficiency with digital marketing tools and platforms including Google Analytics and similar social media management tools
  • Creative and entrepreneurial thinker with a passion for digital marketing and philanthropy
  • Demonstrated success in growing current and new markets through innovative digital marketing strategies and implementation
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data to drive decisions

Preferred

  • Knowledge of HTML, Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), and Content Management Systems (CMS)

Working Conditions / Demands


This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.

Some travel may be required.

Work Location


IU Indianapolis

This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule (mix between remote and in-person work), subject to change in the future based on university policy and business needs.

Work Hours


25-29 hours per week
