Dog Walker / Overnight Pet Sitter – Join the Pawsitively Paws Team!

Pawsitively Paws is an established and well-loved pet sitting and dog walking company, and we are seeking exceptional dog walkers, overnight sitters, and kitty lovers to add to our amazing staff! We are an on-leash only company that offers private dog walks, cat and small animal visits, and overnight pet sittings.

This is a great opportunity for individuals who love animals, enjoy spending time outdoors, and want to make a difference in the lives of pets and their families.

We care for dogs, cats, and a variety of small animals, and we are especially excited to welcome more team members who adore both pups and kitties!

Availability Requirements

We are looking for team members with as much open weekday availability as possible, as most of our shifts fall between 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM.

We do also have some evening and weekend visits available, though these are more limited.

Additional requirements include:

• A smartphone to use our scheduling and walk-tracking app
• A reliable car to ensure pets receive their visits on time
• Ability to pass a background check
• Willingness to work rain or shine

Pay

• $18/hour starting pay for dog walks and pet visits, with room for growth
• Overnight sittings: $55 per night

Overnight sits take place in the client’s home from 7:00 PM to 8:00 AM the following morning.

Tips and bonus opportunities are also available!

Schedule

Days: Monday – Sunday
Hours: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM (varies depending on visits)

We offer flexible scheduling, making this a great opportunity for college students or those looking for meaningful part-time work.

Most walks include 1–2 dogs at a time, though this may vary depending on your experience and our clients’ needs.

Responsibilities

• Walk dogs on a regular schedule to ensure they receive proper exercise
• Provide companionship and playtime during visits
• Follow detailed care instructions provided by pet parents
• Ensure the safety and well-being of pets at all times
• Clean up after dogs and properly dispose of waste
• Report any health or behavioral concerns to management
• Use our app to track visits and record notes/photos for clients

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience working with animals (pet sitting, kennel work, veterinary clinic, etc.)
• Knowledge of basic pet care and handling techniques
• Familiarity with different dog breeds and temperaments
• Ability to handle dogs of varying sizes and energy levels
• Basic understanding of dog training principles is a plus

Skills

• Strong communication skills with clients and team members
• Physical stamina to walk multiple dogs each day
• Ability to lift when needed (for example assisting larger dogs)
• Excellent time management and reliability
