Part-Time Dog Walker – Lower Merion & Havertown

Dog Gone Walking is hiring dependable, caring, and professional dog walkers to serve clients throughout Lower Merion & Havertown.

This position is best suited for applicants who live in or within 8 miles of our service area and are available Monday through Friday during mid-day hours. Because the job involves travel between client homes, applicants must have a reliable car, valid driver’s license, and auto insurance.

What You’ll Do

• Walk dogs during weekday mid-day hours
• Travel between client homes throughout Lower Merion and Havertown
• Follow detailed care instructions for each pet
• Provide safe, attentive care in clients’ homes
• Send visit notes, updates, and photos through our app
• Refresh water bowls, wipe dirty paws, and help keep pets comfortable and safe
• Pick up poop and handle the practical, day-to-day parts of pet care professionally
• Represent Dog Gone Walking with warmth, professionalism, and reliability

Schedule Requirements

• Monday through Friday availability is required
• Most visits take place between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, more availability is great. Our normal working hours are 9am-4pm with earlier and later as needed visits for clients accommodated.
• Ideal candidates are available at least 3 weekdays per week but 5 is preferred.
• Consistent weekday availability is required.

Required Qualifications

• At least 18 years old
• Ability to pass a criminal background check
• Genuine love of dogs and comfort with dogs of different sizes, breeds, and temperaments
• Reliable car, valid driver’s license, and auto insurance
• Strong reliability and time management
• Comfort working independently
• Confidence using a smartphone for scheduling, notes, and photos
• Ability to work outdoors in heat, cold, and rain
• Clear communication and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

• Dog walking, pet care, kennel, daycare, rescue, shelter, or veterinary experience

Physical Requirements

• Walk multiple dogs per day
• Handle leashes, harnesses, collars and active dogs safely
• Bend, squat, clean up waste, and wipe muddy paws as needed
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Lift up to 40 pounds when needed
