Position Overview

Wattage is a premium personal training and physical therapy studio located in the heart of Chicago’s Fulton Market district. We provide a high-touch, results-driven experience for athletes, professionals, and rehabilitation clients.

We are looking for a reliable and experienced Front Desk Associate to manage the daily flow of the studio and serve as the first point of contact for our clients and visitors. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, personable, and comfortable managing both client-facing interactions and operational responsibilities.

Position Details

Location: 1044 W Kinzie St, Chicago, IL 60642Schedule: Monday – Friday, 12:00 PM - 5:00 PMHours: ~25 hours per weekPay: $18–$22 per hourReports to: General Manager

Key Responsibilities

Client Experience & Front Desk Management

  • Serve as the first point of contact for all clients and visitors, providing a warm and professional welcome
  • Answer incoming phone calls and respond to inquiries about services, scheduling, and studio offerings
  • Manage prospective client interactions, including intake calls and gathering initial information
  • Provide tours of the facility and help guide new clients through the onboarding process
  • Ensure every client interaction reflects the high-touch service Wattage is known for

Administrative & Scheduling Coordination

  • Manage appointment scheduling and assist with trainer calendar coordination
  • Maintain accurate client records within the scheduling system
  • Handle point-of-sale transactions and membership purchases
  • Communicate scheduling updates and relevant studio information to clients and staff

Studio Operations

  • Maintain an organized, welcoming, and professional front desk and lobby environment
  • Support daily operational flow of the studio and assist trainers and staff as needed
  • Monitor supplies and communicate inventory needs to management
  • Assist with general studio upkeep including cleaning, laundry, and restocking towels and linens

Team & Event Support

  • Coordinate with trainers and staff to ensure smooth daily operations
  • Assist with organizing studio events, workshops, and special programming
  • Support the General Manager with administrative tasks and day-to-day logistics

Social Media & Digital Support (Preferred, Not Required)

  • Assist with managing studio social media accounts such as Instagram and Facebook
  • Work with the General Manager to curate and publish content that reflects the Wattage brand
  • Help maintain and update the Wattage website through Squarespace (editing information, updating photos, posting blogs, etc.)

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of customer service, hospitality, or front desk experience preferred
  • Experience in a fitness studio, wellness clinic, hospitality environment, or similar client-facing setting is a plus
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Professional communication skills, both in person and on the phone
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
  • Comfortable using scheduling systems and basic administrative software
  • Interest in fitness, health, or wellness is a plus
