Part-Time Household Manager / Personal Assistant

Overview

Private household seeking a highly organized, proactive Household Manager / Personal Assistant to oversee day-to-day logistics, administration, and home operations.

This is an ongoing, part-time role (10-20 hours/week) supporting an academic/professional. The position is best suited for someone not currently working full-time and seeking consistent, long-term part-time work.

This is not a passive task-based role. The right person takes ownership, anticipates needs, and manages systems without constant direction.

This role is intended to be long-term, ideally 3-5+ years.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems
  • Manage calendar, appointments, and scheduling
  • Coordinate family visits and small events
  • Coordinate cleaners, landscapers, and service providers across multiple homes
  • Work with property manager to schedule repairs and contractor visits
  • Track recurring home maintenance (HVAC, pest control, etc.)
  • Order household supplies and manage inventory
  • Oversee deliveries and returns
  • Organize and maintain pantry, closets, and storage areas
  • Track recurring bills and subscriptions
  • Organize financial records and flag irregularities
  • Maintain expense records for taxes and reimbursement
  • Coordinate with accountant and other professionals
  • Book travel (flights, hotels, transportation, restaurants)
  • Prepare detailed travel itineraries and manage documents
  • Arrange airport transportation
  • Grocery ordering and meal coordination
  • Manage charitable donations and records
  • Run errands (post office, returns, dry cleaning, etc.)
  • Coordinate tasks across multiple properties

  • Proactive - does not wait to be told what to do next
  • Takes ownership and follows through without reminders
  • Tech-comfortable (email, calendar systems, spreadsheets, online tools)
  • Trustworthy and discreet with personal and financial information
  • Reliable with strong follow-through
  • Familiar with the Upper Valley area
  • Able to maintain a consistent weekly schedule
  • Seeking long-term part-time work
