Part-Time Interior Design Draftsperson

Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and motivated part-time Interior Designer Drafter in the Los Angeles Area to join our design team. The ideal candidate will have experience in drafting and designing interior spaces, working alongside senior designers and architects to create technical drawings for residential and commercial projects. This role requires proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other design software, as well as an understanding of design principles and attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

• Work with senior designers and project managers to produce detailed interior drawings and design plans.
• Create 2D and 3D floor plans, elevations, sections, and construction details using AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design software.
• Assist in preparing design presentations, mood boards, and concept sketches.
• Collaborate with the design team to select materials, finishes, and furniture based on client needs and project requirements.
• Ensure designs meet local building codes and regulations.
• Revise and update drawings to reflect client feedback and design changes.
• Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and fabricators for accurate design implementation.
• Support in creating project documentation and specifications.

Qualifications:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field.
• Previous experience as an interior designer drafter with proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, or other design software.
• Strong knowledge of interior design principles and architectural drawing standards.
• Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to work well within a team and communicate design ideas clearly.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• A portfolio of relevant work or drafting samples is preferred.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with 3D rendering software (e.g., V-Ray, Lumion) is a plus.
• Familiarity with sustainable design practices and materials.
• Experience with both residential and commercial projects.
• Ability to manage time effectively and work on multiple projects at once.
