Part-Time Non CDL Driver / Warehouse

Thacker Caskets is the largest family owned and independently operated funeral supply company in the United States and has been in business over 80 years! Thacker is a wholesaler of caskets and funeral supplies selling to a consistent customer base of licensed funeral homes its distribution areas. Thacker operates over 19 distribution centers in over 20 states serving thousands of customers on an annual basis. Thacker is currently looking to add a PART TIME Non-CDL driving position due to its immense growth. In the position, you will be responsible for delivering caskets and other funeral products to funeral home customers in a 3 ½ hour radius of the distribution center. In addition, the driver will assist with loading outbound deliveries and unloading inbound deliveries. The driving position requires a professional appearance, strong customer service skills and an unwavering positive attitude.

The position is located in our Belleville, IL distribution center and expected hours per week will be 10-20.

Duties of the position include:

· Providing customers with the best delivery service.

· Making deliveries to funeral home customers within a 3 ½ hour radius.

· Loading delivery vehicles prior to making deliveries.

· Unloading incoming shipments of products.

· Inspecting products going to funeral home using Thacker’s 10-point inspection process.

· Assisting with making sure the distribution center is clean and organized.

Required Qualifications & Characteristics:

· Ability to lift heavy products; over 50 lbs.

· Over the age of 21.

· Minimum of two years driving experience.

· DOT compliant; if not, DOT physical will need to be completed as part of the hiring process.

· Reliable form of transportation to and from work.

Preferred Qualifications & Characteristics:

· Previous experience in operating large vehicles.

· Previous training in inspecting and repairing products.

· Forward thinking and proactive in nature.
