Part-Time Nonprofit Accountant

<Position Summary>
Empowering Youth and Families Outreach (EYFO) is seeking an experienced part-time Nonprofit Accountant to support our financial operations. This role is ideal for someone who understands nonprofit accounting, grant tracking, and maintaining accurate financial records in a mission-driven environment.

<Key Responsibilities>

  • Maintain accurate financial records for nonprofit operations
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Reconcile bank and credit card statements monthly
  • Track and categorize expenses (program, administrative, and grant-related)
  • Assist with budgeting and financial reporting
  • Support preparation for board financial reports
  • Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards and grant requirements
  • Work closely with EYFO staff/ board treasurer provide financial clarity and reporting

<Qualifications>

  • Experience in nonprofit accounting or bookkeeping (required)
  • Strong understanding of fund accounting and grant tracking preferred
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks/or our current Aplos non profit accounting systems or similar accounting software
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Experience preparing financial reports for leadership or boards
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
