Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Part-Time Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our dynamic cardiology office. Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, medical histories, and physical examinations focused on cardiovascular health.
- Assist with diagnostic evaluations such as echocardiography, sonography, and cardiac catheterization procedures.
- Administer medications and injections, including IV infusion
- Coordinate patient care plans, discharge planning, and follow-up appointments utilizing EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems like Practice fusion or EPIC
- Provide triage support by evaluating urgent cases via telehealth or in-person visits, ensuring timely intervention.
- Support clinical research initiatives related to cardiology and participate in quality improvement projects aligned with NCQA standards.
Requirements
- Current Nurse Practitioner licensure with valid certification to practice in the state.
- Experience working in cardiology or related fields such as internal medicine or critical care; familiarity with hospital medicine or Level I/II trauma centers is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth; experience with telehealth platforms is a plus.
- Knowledge of CPT coding, ICD-10 coding, and utilization review processes for accurate documentation and billing.
- Strong clinical skills including physical examinations, medication administration, venipuncture, IV insertion, and sterile technique.
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams in outpatient or inpatient settings; experience with hospital or ICU environments preferred.
- Excellent communication skills for patient education, health coaching, and collaboration with physicians and specialists.
- Additional skills such as sonography, pulmonary function assessment, or esthetic laser treatment are advantageous but not required.
