Southern Health Partners is currently seeking a licensed Medical Provider (Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, or Physician) to provide clinical services and oversight at the Elbert County Jail in Georgia. This role offers the opportunity to remain active in patient care while collaborating with an experienced on-site nursing team in a structured correctional healthcare environment.

With only a couple of hours required each week, this position is ideal for a provider who wants to stay connected to clinical practice, supplement their current work, or share their expertise in a flexible setting that truly benefits the local community.

Position Details

Location: Elbert County Jail – Georgia
Schedule: Approximately 2 Hours Per Week
Flexible Scheduling Available
Role: Medical Provider (NP, PA, or MD)

Key Responsibilities

Conduct routine on-site visits to assess, diagnose, and treat patients

Provide medical oversight and clinical guidance to the nursing staff

Review and approve medical records, treatment plans, and provider orders

Prescribe medications and coordinate outside care or specialty referrals when needed

Promote quality healthcare delivery in accordance with established clinical guidelines

Maintain patient confidentiality and professional medical standards

Qualifications

Active MD, PA, or NP license in the state of Georgia

Nurse Practitioners must maintain a collaborating physician relationship if required by state regulations

Experience in primary care, urgent care, emergency medicine, or correctional healthcare preferred

Ability to successfully pass a background check and obtain facility security clearance
