Part-Time Peer Mentor - Spring/Summer I 2026
Campus Location: Remote and Lynn (hybrid) Remote and Danvers (hybrid)
Work Schedule: Varies; 8-14 hours per week, may include evenings and weekends. (student will work with coordinator to create their own schedule)
SALARY:$17.30/hr.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
The goal of peer mentorship is to promote persistence from semester to semester and a successful academic experience at North Shore Community College by helping students build academic skills, support community-building and social adjustment. As peer mentors, student staff serve as a point of contact for new and returning students at the College, helping them identify obstacles to their academic performance and support them in finding solutions for overcoming those challenges with the goal of completing their academic program of choice. Peer mentors are students who have demonstrated success at NSCC, at other colleges, or within the workforce, who can share their experience with other students. Peer mentors participate in required training sessions, team meetings, and other activities to support the program as required.
This position is designed for NSCC students and recent NSCC alumni. Other eligible candidates may include NSCC students who have been successful in other college settings and/or NSCC students who have a history of successful employment. We ask our peer staff to commit to the position for at least 2 semesters. The mission of North Shore Community College's Tutoring and Academic Support Centers is to support the learning efforts of the students, faculty teaching, and the larger goals within each program of study.
