Part-Time Preschool Assistant (Split Shift)

Join our team as a Part-Time Childcare Assistant working split shifts to support the development and well-being of children in our early childhood education center. In this dynamic role, you will provide attentive, nurturing care while fostering a safe and engaging environment for children of ages, toddlers, and preschoolers. This paid position offers flexible hours designed to accommodate your schedule while making a meaningful difference in children’s lives.

Schedule:

  • Morning Shift: 6:00 AM – 9:00 AM only (M-W-F)
  • Afternoon Shift: 3:00 PM – 5:00PM (M-F)
  • Days: Monday–Friday
  • No weekends, all major holidays off

Duties

  • Supervise and engage children during designated shift times, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
  • Assist with daily routines such as feeding, diapering, and outdoor activities in accordance with safety standards
  • Implement age-appropriate activities that support childhood development, including teaching basic skills and encouraging social interaction
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and stimulating environment by sanitizing toys and classroom materials regularly
  • Communicate effectively with Director and team members about children’s progress, needs, and any concerns
  • Support behavior management strategies to promote positive conduct and emotional regulation among children
  • Follow all health and safety protocols, including first aid procedures when necessary

Experience

  • Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, babysitting, nannying or classroom settings is highly preferred
  • Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childhood development milestones
  • Experience caring for toddlers, including diapering, feeding, and engaging in age-specific activities
  • Familiarity with behavior management techniques to foster positive behavior in young children
  • Certification or training in first aid and CPR is advantageous
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities or special needs is a plus
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with parents, caregivers, and team members
