Part Time Professional Pet Sitter

Zippy Pets is a growing professional pet sitting business serving the Asheville, WNC and Greenville, Upstate SC areas! We offer a variety of services, including dog walks, hikes, drop-in visits, house sitting, and pet transportation.

We are calling in dedicated, reliable, and passionate pet lovers to grow with us. Our ideal candidate is someone who truly loves animals, is a self-starter, manages their time well, has a growth mindset and excellent communication skills. We are looking for individuals who take pride in their work, value building relationships, and want to be part of something bigger than just a job.

This is a part-time position to start, with opportunities to grow into full-time. We are seeking someone open to working some weekends, holidays, and occasional overnight stays—though not required, it’s a plus! We prefer someone looking for a long-term role rather than seasonal work. This is a great fit for pet lovers, aspiring entrepreneurs, freelancers, or those with extra time on their hands who want meaningful, active work.

Responsibilities:

• Provide excellent professional and compassionate care for pets
• Follow specific care instructions provided by the pet owner
• Drive to and from clients’ homes
• Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal
• Professionally represent the Zippy
• Treat clients and teammates with respect
• Respond to feedback issues/concerns with a positive attitude and open mind
• Attend client meet and greets - some solo and some with other team members
• Feed pets, refresh water, wash pets bowls, and administer medications as needed
• Clean litter boxes and dispose of pet waste
• In some cases, check the client's mail, take out trash, bring in packages and water plants
• Play and interact with pets to keep them engaged
• Make sure home is secured after visit is complete
• Respect for clients’ homes - no unapproved visitors or animals
• Follow up with clients to make sure they made it home safely
• Perform canvassing activities to drive business to the team
• Communicate with Zippy Pets team via Telegram
• Use your smartphone to track services and send detailed updates with photos via Time to Pet app

Job Requirements:

• Smartphone
• Valid driver’s license
• Reliable transportation
• Able to pass a background check
• Available for some weekends and holidays
• Experience with a wide range of animal temperaments and comfortable with all breeds of dogs
• Flexibility in schedule
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to walk pets on a leash in a variety of conditions - inclement weather, steep terrain, etc

Required Skills & Abilities:

• Experience with animals in a casual or professional setting
• Comfortable meeting and talking with clients
• Adaptable to new changes as we are a growing organization
• Excellent time management skills
• Self-motivated, organized, and great communication skills
• Can work well in both a team environment and individually
• Willing and able to learn and use Telegram and Time to Pet apps

Pay & Benefits:

• Pet Sitters are paid on a “per visit” basis
• On average earn $15-25+ per visit plus additional pet pay & tips
• $60-95+ for overnights plus additional pet pay & tips
