Part Time Reading Specialist

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Reading Specialist to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in literacy education and be committed to fostering a love of reading among students. This role involves working closely with students to assess their reading skills, develop individualized learning plans, and implement effective instructional strategies to enhance literacy development. Candidates must have training and experience in a multi-sensory reading approach.

Duties

• Assess student reading levels and identify areas for improvement through various evaluation methods.
• Develop and implement tailored lesson plans that meet the diverse needs of students, including those with special education requirements.
• Provide tutoring and one-on-one support to students struggling with reading comprehension and fluency.

Skills

• Strong background in curriculum development, lesson planning, and instructional design.
• Experience working with students in various educational settings.
• Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Knowledge of childhood education principles, childhood development stages, and literacy education methodologies, including at least one multi-sensory approach.
• Ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities and provide tailored support as needed.
• At least 2 years of experience working with students with reading challenges is required.
