Part Time Shop Helper

About Us

Transport National is a specialized heavy-haul carrier with over 50 years of experience delivering excellence in the transportation industry. Our Oak Creek terminal is looking for a reliable and motivated Shop Helper to support our maintenance operations and learn the inner workings of the trucking industry.

Responsibilities

• Assist with parts inventory, restocking, and organization.
• Maintain clean, safe, and orderly work areas.
• Support technicians with non-mechanical shop tasks such as labeling, tool tracking, and cleaning.
• Install asset trackers on company equipment and trailers under supervision.
• Assist with shipping and receiving of parts and supplies.
• Perform general housekeeping (sweeping, waste disposal, etc.).

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Reliable, punctual, and eager to learn.
• Team-oriented with a positive attitude.
• No prior shop experience required—training provided!

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical labor for extended periods.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
• Comfortable working in a shop environment that may include exposure to noise, grease, and varying temperatures.
• Must be able to bend, reach, and move safely around heavy equipment.

Schedule & Pay

• Flexible weekday hours, typically 20–25 per week.
• Competitive hourly pay based on experience.

Base Pay: From $16.00 per hour
