Twinkle Toes Nanny Agency is seeking compassionate, patient, and reliable caregivers to provide exceptional in-home care for children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), developmental delays, ADHD, sensory processing differences, and other special needs. Our Special Needs Nannies play a vital role in supporting children's development, independence, communication, and daily routines while creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment.
This position is ideal for caregivers who are passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of children and their families.
Compensation:
$18 - $20 hourly
Responsibilities:
Child Care & Safety

Provide attentive, individualized care based on each child's unique needs and abilities.

Maintain a safe and supportive environment at all times.

Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities.

Assist with personal care tasks as needed, including toileting, dressing, feeding, and hygiene routines.
Development & Engagement
-
Implement age-appropriate and developmentally appropriate activities.
-
Encourage social, emotional, communication, and life skills development.
-
Support sensory play and sensory regulation strategies.
-
Assist with homework, educational activities, and therapeutic goals when appropriate.
-
Foster independence through positive reinforcement and encouragement.
Communication Support

Utilize communication methods appropriate to the child, including:

AAC devices
-
PECS systems
-
Visual schedules
-
Sign language
-
Social stories
-
Follow guidance from parents and therapy professionals when applicable.

Maintain clear communication with families regarding the child's day, progress, and challenges.
Behavioral Support
-
Implement positive behavior support strategies.
-
Remain calm and patient during periods of dysregulation or challenging behaviors.
-
Redirect behaviors appropriately while maintaining the child's dignity and emotional well-being.

Follow established behavior plans provided by parents or therapists.
Household Support Related to Child Care

Prepare meals and snacks for the child.

Clean up child-related areas and activities.
-
Wash children's dishes and assist with children's laundry as requested.

Organize toys, learning materials, and sensory equipment.
Qualifications:-
Previous experience working with children with autism, special needs, developmental disabilities, or behavioral challenges preferred.

Experience as a nanny, childcare provider, teacher, paraprofessional, RBT, therapist assistant, camp counselor, or special education aide is highly valued.

Strong patience, empathy, and problem-solving skills.

Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.

Ability to pass a comprehensive background screening.

CPR and First Aid Certification preferred.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
