Part-Time Staff Associate, Engineering, Business and Information Technologies

The Engineering, Business and Information Technologies Division at Lorain County Community College (LCCC) is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused part-time Staff Associate to support the administrative functions and daily operations of the division. The Staff Associate will perform a variety of office, clerical, and project-based tasks while interacting regularly with students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Screening and directing phone calls; greeting and assisting students, faculty, staff, and visitors while providing exceptional customer service.
  • Sorting and distributing mail and maintaining general office organization.
  • Preparing correspondence, reports, forms, marketing materials, and other documents.
  • Organizing and maintaining office files and records; recording proceedings of meetings.
  • Assisting with scheduling appointments, meetings, and events.
  • Utilizing administrative and office software to produce, update, and maintain college records.
  • Assisting with the coordination and implementation of special projects.
  • Supporting the development of office procedures and guidelines as requested.
  • Performing routine support tasks with general direction and completing assignments accurately and on time.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned.


The incumbent selected will work up to 25 hours per week and report to the Dean of Engineering, Business and Information Technologies. This position is on-campus and will be scheduled during weekday hours between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.


Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one year of experience in an office setting.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and familiarity with standard office equipment and general office procedures.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and perform tasks independently.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills and customer service skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly and maintain accuracy and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree.
  • Experience working in an academic or higher-education office environment.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft.
