Golden Door Country Store

Golden Door Country Store is seeking a dependable and detail‑oriented Part-Time Stocking and Operations Associate to support daily retail store operations, inventory management, produce merchandising, and store maintenance.

This is a hands‑on operational role that plays a key part in maintaining our clean, organized, and well‑stocked store environment. Associates in this role will also be cross‑trained to provide customer service support and point‑of‑sale (register) coverage as needed.

This position requires operating a company vehicle during scheduled shifts. Applicants must possess a valid California Driver’s License and maintain a clean driving record.

Schedule & Compensation

  • Part-Time: 2 days per week
  • Primary Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
  • Weekend availability required
  • Pay Range: $18.00 – $19.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities

Inventory & Stock Operations

  • Receive, inspect, and process incoming deliveries
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of stockroom areas
  • Rotate merchandise using FIFO (First In, First Out) method
  • Monitor inventory levels and report discrepancies or shortages
  • Transfer products safely from stockroom to sales floor
  • Operate company vehicle as needed to transport items between onsite locations

Produce Merchandising & Quality Control

  • Inspect and stock fresh produce items
  • Build and maintain attractive produce displays
  • Maintain daily care of floral arrangements (trim stems, refresh water)
  • Monitor quality throughout shift and remove substandard items promptly
  • Dispose of packaging waste and compost according to store procedures

Store Maintenance & Cleanliness

  • Perform daily cleaning duties
  • Maintain floors, restrooms, common areas, and break rooms
  • Sanitize shelves, displays, and windows
  • Manage trash, recycling, and compost removal

Required Qualifications

  • Previous retail, stocking, grocery, or warehouse experience preferred
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Willingness to complete customer service and register training
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Team‑oriented work ethic
  • Basic understanding of safe food handling practices is a plus
  • Valid California Driver’s License required
  • Must maintain an acceptable driving record to operate company vehicles as part of essential job duties

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Frequent bending, reaching, and lifting during shift
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures including refrigerated stock areas
