Job Overview

Duties

  • Develop and implement age-appropriate curricula tailored to early childhood education standards, including Montessori methods where applicable
  • Design interactive lesson plans that promote literacy, math, physical education, and social skills
  • Manage classroom behavior using positive reinforcement techniques to create a safe and supportive learning environment
  • Engage with children through play-based activities that support childhood development and early intervention strategies
  • Collaborate with colleagues and parents to monitor progress and adapt teaching approaches for diverse learning needs, including special education and toddler care
  • Conduct assessments using standardized testing methods to evaluate student growth and inform instruction
  • Maintain detailed records of student activities, progress reports, and classroom management logs

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of curriculum development and lesson planning tailored to early childhood education
  • Experience working with children across various age groups, including toddlers and preschoolers
  • Familiarity with special education practices and early intervention techniques
  • Proficiency in classroom management and behavior management strategies to foster a positive learning environment
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging with students, parents, and team members effectively
  • Knowledge of childhood development principles, including Montessori methodologies and preschool experience
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods for diverse learners using differentiated instruction
  • Experience with standardized testing, tutoring, and teaching physical education activities
  • Understanding of child welfare practices, daycare operations, and private school environments
