This is a part-time position with a maximum of 1,508 hours per year and is not eligible for paid holidays, leave, or benefits.
Job Description
The Part-time Volunteer Gwinnett Clerk position will provide front-line customer service by responding to phone calls and emails from residents and volunteers with professional, timely, and courteous communication. In addition, this position will be providing general clerical support functions, to the Volunteer Gwinnett staff, including preparing correspondences, organizing digital files, documentation, assisting with volunteer communication and maintaining record management.
Essential Duties

Entering, updating and maintaining all of the volunteer records in the volunteer management system, including entering hours for reporting, submitting background checks, creating volunteer accounts, and registering volunteers for events

Organizing and maintaining electronic program records, ensuring proper state and federal retention requirements and maintaining confidentiality in accordance with County guidelines

Preparing packets, printed materials, badges, marketing items, and other materials needed for outreach, volunteer recognition, and Mobile Food Distribution support

Staffing outdoor events and tabling opportunities on behalf of Volunteer Gwinnett, including traveling to sites, setting up tables and chairs, and assisting the public with program information

Assisting with Volunteer Gwinnett reporting by entering monthly volunteer hours, maintaining attendance records, and filing volunteer waivers and registrations

Supporting the County’s Mobile Food Distribution program by preparing materials, assisting with check-in or distribution tasks, and working with community partners in an outdoor setting

Monitoring supply inventories for outreach, tabling, and recognition activities, documenting quantities and notifying staff when replenishment is needed

Performing other duties of a similar nature or level
Public Speaking Duties

Representing Volunteer Gwinnett in a supportive capacity at public events by sharing program materials and helping explain available volunteer opportunities

Providing basic program information to residents and volunteers during outreach events, tabling opportunities, Mobile Food Distributions, or community activities

Assisting in greeting participants and answering routine questions during Volunteer Gwinnett programs, recognition events, outreach events and the Office of Civic Engagement and Social Impact initiatives
Other Job Requirements/Information

This job may require on-call rotation and emergency after hours, weekends, and/or holidays.
Hourly rate

The hourly rate is $16.80 per hour.
Minimum Qualifications
-
High School Diploma AND
-
An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered.

Driver's License
Preferred Qualifications in addition to the above minimum qualifications

Associate degree in public administration, business administration, human services, or communications AND
-
Customer service, administrative support, event assistance, retail or restaurant service, or other public facing roles that require strong communication and attention to detail.
