Director.PAY GRADE: 103SAFETY SENSITIVE: NoPurpose of JobThe purpose of this position is to serve as an assistant to the full-time zoo staff. This position hosts the weekend zoo birthday party programs by providing educational animal encounter programs and zoo tours for birthday party attendees. Animal handling and husbandry duties are
required.Care, training, and transport of the zoo's ambassador animal collection and their use in zoo programs and birthday parties. Zoo classroom cleaning duties and participation in zoo special events as needed.Job Related RequirementsWORK SCHEDULE: Saturdays and Sundays; 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.May be required to work on religious holidays.Regular and predictable attendance is required.Must work cooperatively with others.Responsible for a clean and safe work environment.When requirements include vehicle operation, responsible for the safety, readiness and operation of the vehicle and must abide by ACC's safe driving policy.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Previous experience in any of the following areas: working with animals, leading programs or activities with children, docent or other similar type of experience.Must possess a valid driver's license.

Must have the ability to use one hand for twisting or turning motion while coordinating other hand with different activities. Must have minimal levels of eye/hand/foot coordination.COLOR DISCRIMINATION: May require the ability to differentiate between colors and shades of color.INTERPERSONAL TEMPERAMENT: Requires the ability to deal with people beyond giving and receiving instructions.
